Les Misérables

Les Misérables collectors booklet and album

I think people love Les Mis because there’s this overarching message of hope and redemption. The idea of starting your own revolution just by loving the people close to you.

Eddie Redmayne, ‘The Hollywood Reporter’

I went to see Les Misérables in the cinema today and was blown away. An extraordinary film and a must see for all. Not a great deal can be said without giving things away, and I don’t want to give you spoilers, but I’ll tell you that this is potentially my new favourite film, and it is about revolution, freedom, love, Life. I was also very pleased to see that God and religion were portrayed so positively, as the sanctuaries and helps they were always meant to be, and still sometimes are…

Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent… to love another is to see the face of God…

The song that has going round me head the most since I saw the film has to be Red and Black (see below); no great spoilers if you haven’t already seen it (and you must)…

Breathtaking film. Moving and uplifting. See it.
