Think of how God loves you

Last week in St Peters on the hill I had the beautifully stilling encounter of a butterfly flying into the church to join us for our prayer. And now this week after remembering my baptism birthday, a Sunday serving in the university chapel has brought a surprise baptism of the adorable and smiling Lucas.

Religion can be horribly political and argumentative at times, but it isn’t all like that. God loves us, and whilst the Church and religion can be used as an oppressive tool, good religion and good Church celebrates the life of smiling beautiful youngsters like Lucas, is open to all people, and thinks about how God loves us and calls us to love one another as Christ did – a beautiful anthem from the heavenly chapel choir from today’s baptism service is at the top of this post, please listen, and be still…

The album of music composed by James MacMillan and sung by Cappella Nova is well worth listening to; you can buy it on Amazon as a physical CD here and as an MP3 download here
