Lent 2012: Day Thirty-Eight

Hebrews 13:15 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

As the verse has it, a Lenten sacrifice isn’t only about giving something up. It can be about taking something on. Not simply a lesson of fasting, but a reminder of the need for self and social care. And for a reminder to take time in relationship with God.

I’ve realised that the 40 days of Lent go on for 46 days. Which makes no sense… would someone like to enlighten me by posting a comment?

I found out, just this year, that the church does not count Sunday in the forty days.
