Lent 2012: Day Four

Isaiah 58:10 if you offer your food to the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, then your light shall rise in the darkness and your gloom be like the noonday.

This passage from Isaiah reminded me two things. First, the feeding of the multitude in Jesus’ presence: a little can go a long way, and sharing what we have leads others to do the same. Second, Mother Teresa: “If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”

Isaiah 58:10 if you offer your food to the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, then your light shall rise in the darkness and your gloom be like the noonday.
