Entering into Silence

Delicious food and lots of quiet reading for me, after settling into my room about 3:30pm. Keeping warm and cosy, and feel great. So good just to be in this space, with no laptop pinging at me with emails or phone beeping or college work piling. Just free. Breathing. I’ve brought three books with me to Lampeter:

If it isn’t blatantly obvious, my theme is “Silence”. I want to enter into silence more whilst in Lampeter. Find out what is at the heart of it for me, why it matters, and how to describe it. To define it.

The first few pages of Maitland’s book have reminded me of Matthew 6:25-27…

‘Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life?
