Birdsong

*post contains spoilers*

BBC’s Birdsong nearly killed me last night. Overwhelming. Yet how could I not watch it?

Many tired faces today, many conversations, and many hugs. It’s hard to see the reality of this terrible war, remembering that WW2 came only a few decades after.

I pray that WW3 will never come, and that we can create deeper connections with one another. Somehow we continue to fight against one another. We must learn from this. We must change. As Stephen (in the image above) hugged the German who told him the war was over, with yet more tears, we were reminded that so many souls were used by imperators as pawns on a chessboard.

We can make things better. We can be better. All we need to do, is unite, and love…

1 Corinthians 12:12-13 NRSV: For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
