“There’s such a mish-mash of things that are so repugnant and rapacious in the Bible and things that are beautiful and lovely and well worth taking on board, but in order to decide which bits we should use, which bits are moral and which bits are now immoral, we have to refer to some other, higher sense of morality which can’t come from the Bible because that’s the very thing we’re cherry-picking from, so whatever that higher level is… you have that whether you’re a believer or a non-believer.”

The Bible cannot be, is not, our only source for knowing God – for knowing the beauty of the source of life and love, whatever name we give that…
