I Like to Read

Now I have a set study-list for my English Literature course this year. My coursework (a 3,000 word essay) will be based on Selected Poetry of the First World War, A Long Long Way by Sebastian Barry, and The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. For my exam I’ll be studying Hamlet by William Shakespeare, The Revenger’s Tragedy by Thomas Middleton & Cyril Tourneur, and William Blake’s poetry collection: Songs of Innocence and of Experience. A lot more to do than last year! It’s a good job I like to read.

Donald Miller: “I fell in love with books. Some people find beauty in music, some in painting, some in landscape, but I find it in words. By beauty, I mean the feeling you have suddenly glimpsed another world, or looked into a portal that reveals a kind of magic or romance out of which the world has been constructed, a feeling there is something more than the mundane, and a reason for our plodding.”

I find beauty in music, painting and landscape too, but oh I do like to read.
