I’ve loved Taizé since I heard “Christ’s is the world” (also known as “A Touching Place”) from Iona, which was sung in my current parish St Michael & All Angels. Really beautiful. I was directed to Taizé shortly afterward and have listened to a great deal of taizé chants since.
Listening to a few albums, I selected a handful to listen to regularly as part of a “routine” element of my prayer life.
“In the Lord” is one of the regulars…
In the Lord I’ll be ever thankful,
In the Lord, I will rejoice.
Look to God, do not be afraid
Lift up your voices: the Lord is near.
Lift up your voices: the Lord is near.
The actual version of this chant which I listen to regularly, sung by the Reading Phoenix Choir and on the album “Brother Roger 1915-2005″ can be found on Spotify here.
Lovely, isn’t it?
